Content: The Quranic script (often the Uthmani script) has specific symbols that help you read correctly.

  The Tanween: Learn to recognize double vowels (ً ٍ ٌ). These signify an “N” sound at the end of the vowel.
•  
  The Shaddah ( ّ ): This W-shaped symbol means you must “double” the letter. It requires a tiny bit of extra pressure.
•  
  The Maddah ( ~ ): When you see this wavy line, it is a signal to “Stretch” the sound longer than usual.

  Visual Practice: Open any page of the Quran. Can you find 3 Shaddahs and 3 Tanweens? Don’t worry about reading the words yet—just hunt for the symbols!
