Goal: A repeatable system to follow every time you start a new Surah.

Content: Whenever you start a new page or Surah alone, follow this 4-Step Independence Checklist:

  1. Listen (3x): Listen to the verse being recited by a Qari while following along with your eyes.
  2. Highlight: Use a pencil (or digital highlighter) to mark any Shaddahs, Mads (stretches), or Heavy letters you might forget.
  3. Shadow & Record: Recite with the Qari, then record yourself reciting alone.
  4. Audit: Play back your recording. Did you hit the marks you highlighted in Step 2?

Self-Correction Tip: If you keep making the same mistake on one word, write that word out on a sticky note. Seeing the word’s “shape” often helps the brain correct the pronunciation.

Exercise: Apply this checklist to the first 3 verses of Surah Al-Mulk today.
