Goal: Learn how to “audit” your own recitation using a voice recorder.
Content: We often don’t hear our own mistakes while we are speaking. Recording yourself is like looking in a “sound mirror.”
-
The 3-Step Audit:
-
Record: Record yourself reciting a short Surah (e.g., Surah Al-Asr).
-
Listen: Listen to your recording while following the words in your Mushaf.
-
Compare: Immediately play a professional Qari reciting the same Surah.
-
-
The Checklist: Did you miss a Shaddah? Was your “Mad” (stretch) long enough? Did you “echo” the Qalqalah letters?
-
Self-Correction Tip: Be kind to yourself! Focus on finding just one thing to fix in every recording.
-
Exercise: Record yourself reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas. Compare it to a Qari and identify one letter you want to improve.
